Clinicians and scientists responsible for organisational quality and safety for blood management and transfusion practice need specific knowledge and skills, that can be gained in our industry backed, postgraduate course.

The University of Melbourne’s industry-backed postgraduate courses will equip you with the requisite knowledge and skills needed to manage all aspects of quality and safety in blood management and coordinate requirements for the National Quality and Safety Healthcare Standards, Blood Standard.

These courses are ideal for currently practicing Registered Nurses, midwives, medical scientists and medical officers. Our courses are delivered in partnership with the Australian Red Cross Blood Service and the Department of Health and Human Services under the auspices of the Blood Maters program. They are 100% online, developed and facilitated by industry experts.

The study pathway allows you to begin with the Specialist Certificate in Blood Management Foundations and progress to the Graduate Certificate in Transfusion Practice, which is endorsed by the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) Academy.
